The aim of Laboratory of Molecular Assays is to support scientists in transforming their research into projects allowing identification of small molecules that can serve as chemical tools or starting points for further development into new medicines or other industrial use.
The Laboratory is a part of Centre of High Throughput Screening Studies (CHTSS), located in the Centre of Advanced Technologies and is offering know-how and hands on help in development of industrial standard screening assays and performing small molecule screens. Our experience is covering target based biochemical techniques as well as cell-based assays, including phenotyping high content screening and strong expertise in image analysis.
We collaborate closely with Laboratory of Hight Throughput Screening and together form one of EU-OPENSCREEN ( screening site - the only laboratory in Poland with the capability of performing high throughput screening campaigns.  With an access to EU-OPENSCREEN chemical library and state of art equipment, we can test biological activity of hundred thousand molecules within days including additional chemical libraries if required.
We welcome all the researchers from different disciplines, academia as well as industry, who want to miniaturise and optimise their bench-top model and use in testing against a unique compound collection. We will assist you in establishing conditions for running your assay in 96, 384 or 1536 well plates, finding necessary controls and, finally, apply liquid handling and robotics, to ensure that the results of your screening campaign are reliable.  We perform primary screening, orthogonal tests, analyse the data and eventually confirm activity providing IC50 values for selected molecules. Hit compounds can be also tested for their toxicity in different cellular models.
